Unboxing LookFantastic July Subscription Box
Let’s take a look at what I received in the July ‘Wanderlust’ edition!
The reason behind their ‘Wanderlust’ theme for the month of July was to promote traveling since the countries are now opening their borders and welcoming tourists. Not just that with the global vaccination on a strike, their purpose is to make the best of this summer by going to faraway places and giving yourself the vacation that you deserve.
I was pleased by the range of goods in this little bundle! Even though they all were either skin or hair care products, they were of different varieties and uses which can help you enhance your daily self-care routine.
First off, can we take a moment to appreciate the sophisticated packaging of the products? It already gives off a premium vibe. The products are included in a see-through travel bag and an additional booklet comes with the pouch.
Even though the box was supposed to include 6 products, the little pamphlet is a bonus! It is loaded with information regarding each of the products included in the box for the month.
Not just info of the products, it has details about the individual retail prices of each product in case you were curious about the value of the box and a sneak peek into their next month’s box. You can call this a mini-magazine rather than a user manual as it also contains beauty tips and hacks.
1. Pouch
It would be wrong to call it a pouch but rather it is sort of a reusable cosmetic bag that you could use to store your cosmetics or use to carry them while you are traveling. The latter makes more sense as their whole theme is regarding traveling.
It features a handle that makes it more portable and has the label “Lookfantastic BEAUTY BOX” engraved on it. The bag has a nice texture on the outside and is transparent on one side which lets you see the products inside.
2. Revlon Classic Super Lustrous Lipstick (worth $8.49)
As soon as I unloaded the products, my eyes got stuck to this natural color lipstick. The creamy lipstick is from Revlon in the shade “Rose Wine” (225), a pinkish nude shade. Enhanced with the LiquiSilk formula, the lipstick is capable of keeping the pigment and softness locked for longer. This means you can wear this for long hours without it fading or cracking.
You can apply the lipstick in a regular way but to give it a greater pigmentation, you can just dab some on your lips with your fingers. Also, as per the expert tips included in the mini-magazine, the lipstick can be doubled as a blusher as well. You can rub some on your cheeks using your fingers and blend it out to give you natural-looking pink cheeks.
3. Illamasqua Beyond Liquid Mini Highlighter (worth $4.13)
Next up I found a tiny tube (2ml) of highlighter from Illamasqua. This is a lightweight liquid-based highlighter in the shade “OMG” that I believe and as it claims will give you a subtle dewy finish. The color of the highlighter features a champagne pearl shimmer so this is ideal for use in any skin tone.
You can either mix this with your makeup base to give a natural luminosity or directly apply it to the high spots on your face like your cheekbones, bridge of the nose, and cupid bow to give it a glowy edge.
4. Starskin 7-Second Luxury All Day Mask (worth $2)
Then I grabbed the product which seemed like a sheet mask and I was right! It is the Starskin 7-Second Luxury All-Day Mask which costs $2. The mask integrates 7 skincare regimes in 1 and is infused with ingredients that give a boost to your skin health. Some of the ingredients include grape seed extract, berry seed extract, glycerine, and niacinamide.
The double-sided cleansing pad promotes a natural glow and hydrates your skin, cleaning it in seconds.
The mask is pretty easy to use. You just have to place the textured side on your skin and massage for a few seconds and then simply flip it over and rub the smooth side on your skin and then you are done with an easy but effective skincare routine. You can complete the regime with serums and moisturizers of your choice after the mask.
5. Elemis Superfood Glow Priming Moisturiser (worth $16.33)
If you want to flaunt a dewy look this moisturizer may be your perfect companion. Elemis is a UK-based makeup brand that offers a range of beauty products to its customers. The superfood flow priming moisturizer worth $16.33 is from their collection. The moisturizer comes in an orangish-peachy tube of 20 ml with a cream-gel texture.
The moisturizer helps you brighten your skin as well as gives you the radiant and smooth skin that we all desire.
It comes in one universal shade which is a slightly peachy base with a lot of shimmers as since it is a sheer product, the universal shade is really not a big issue and can be used in all skin tones. This 3-in-1 product can be used as a moisturizer, a primer, or simply as a natural base for your makeup.
6. Grow Gorgeous Defence Anti-Pollution Leave-In Spray (worth $8)
The Grow Gorgeous Defence Anti-Pollution Leave-In Spray was the next product that came in the box. The $8 leave-in spray comes in a 60 ml bottle with very attractive packaging. This multipurpose hair shield can protect your hair from heat damage and prevent color fade. Not only that but it can also resist any external factor that can cause destruction to your hair.
The product is made with ingredients that are natural and vegan-friendly. It is formulated from green tea extracts, sunflower extracts, and Vitamin B5. Moreover, its preparation does not involve the use of parabens, sulfates, or silicones which are considered detrimental for hair health.
Its formula is perfect for any hair type but is ideal for people who suffer from greasy hair. You will have to apply this on semi-wet hair and comb it and be done! You will have more manageable and healthy hair that you can style any way you want.
7. Minetan Cucumber Hydrating Face & Body Mist (worth $5.93)
Packed with the goodness of cucumber, the Minetan face & body mist comes in a cute 30ml container. As its name suggests, the mist can be used on both your face (both under and above your makeup) and body. The mist is light, hydrating, and super refreshing. Featuring a gradual tan, it gives you a glowy-bronzy summer look.
Although it acts as a gradual tanner, it does not come with any artificial tan smell. The transparent mist is instantly and easily absorbed into the skin. It is infused with cucumber extract, Citric acid, oils of Jojoba, and Macadamia seeds, all of which give you a freshening and calming effect.
Be careful to hold it at least 15 cm away from your skin while you spray it!

Verdict
Now, do I recommend this box? Yes, I do! Overall, I personally enjoyed the box. Not just the products I would also like to note that the pouch will be great for organizing!
This is an ideal box for all makeup enthusiasts who would enjoy giving a small present to themselves every month. This little box of goodies can enhance your beauty routine, strengthen your inner confidence and allow you to get introduced to amazing small brands and products, that too on a budget. Not just for yourselves, I think this makes a good gift as well! You could give this to someone special and bring a smile to their face.
Even though I thought the Illamasqua Beyond Liquid Mini Highlighter was quite small in size, other than that all the other products are quite convenient. Upon careful consideration, I estimated that I received products worth over $44 which is still a steal for having to pay only $16-$19!
