UNPACKING MY BJJ BOX 2022
This was actually my first ever BJJ BOX. I decided to go with The VIP BJJ Box subscription which comes with 5-7 jiu-jitsu gears.
All the jiu-jitsu gears came in this white box. I liked that the items did not come in a polybag so the items inside were well protected throughout shipping and delivery time.
I received this sample pack of Foxhound Fuel, which contained six stick packs of three different flavors. These come in powder form that needs to be mixed with around 12 to 16 ounces of water. I received two stick packs of each flavor. The BJJ BOX included the Matcha Lime flavor, the Coconut Mango flavor, and the Strawberry Lemonade flavor. This brand uses clean, natural, and effective ingredients that help athletes stay focused and energized. All these drink mixes are free of artificial flavors, colors, and sweeteners. They are both dairy-free and gluten-free. They are also very low in calories!
The Matcha Lime, which comes in the green pack, is supposed to be a pre-workout drink mix that contains matcha tea, electrolytes, and B vitamins so you are likely to feel pumped up after drinking it. The Coconut Mango, which comes in the blue pack, is meant to be taken during your BJJ training. It contains coconut water, electrolytes, and B vitamins, which help your body stay hydrated even while sweating. On the other hand, Strawberry Lemonade, which comes in a pink pack, is a post-workout drink mix that contains turmeric extract, BCAA, glutamine, and electrolytes. The turmeric extract and the BCAA help relieve muscle soreness so you won’t feel completely worn out after your training session.
I also received this peppermint bar soap from Defense. It was made with natural ingredients such as tea tree, eucalyptus, and peppermint essential oils. It had a very subtle peppermint scent that was not too overpowering. I liked how it effectively removed dirt and sweat. It was also very easy to rinse off. Plus, it was super long-lasting. The bar soap was actually quite dense so I was able to use it for over a month.
I think this was a great item to include in the subscription box. Most BJJ athletes practice on the ground mostly so they need a proper hygiene routine that will keep their skin clean and free of infections. This bar soap did not feel harsh on the skin. It did not cause any irritations or make my skin feel dry, which I really liked. It was perfect for daily use. I personally think the peppermint scent helped make me feel refreshed after a quick shower.
Another item I received was this canister full of body wipes, which was also from Defense. It contained a total of 40 body wipes, made of entirely natural ingredients such as tea tree oil, eucalyptus oil, coco glucoside, and distilled water. These body wipes are perfect for removing excess sweat from any part of your body. It is a very handy tool for athletes who cannot get to the shower immediately after a sweaty workout. I really liked that you could use a single body wipe for both your face and body. Each wipe was heavily absorbent. I also liked that the canister was small in size so you could fit it inside your bag without much hassle.
I received this Cold Compression Therapy by Penguin Fingers, which is meant to relieve pain and muscle sprains in the wrist area. This 360° cold compression is likely to help with arthritic, swollen, or sore joints. You can wear this cryotherapy gel pack like a bracelet around your wrist. It is flexible which makes it suitable for both small to medium wrists. It is made using high-quality materials so it is likely to have a good lifespan. You will be able to get results within just five minutes!
This Cold Compression Therapy by Penguin Fingers is a very useful item for BJJ athletes, especially because jammed or sprained wrists are among the most common type of injuries while practicing Brazilian jiu-jitsu. You are instructed to store the pack in the freezer for at least one hour before wearing it on your wrist. When you are done using it, you should put it back in the freezer rather than keep it at room temperature.
I found this Pain Relieving Ointment by Tiger Balm in my BJJ BOX as well. If you have sore muscles or if you are in pain from a strenuous workout, you can massage this ointment onto the affected area around 3 to 4 times per day. You should avoid rubbing it into your eyes and on open wounds as it will sting or cause irritation.
The last item in my BJJ BOX was this black T-shirt in size medium. This T-shirt was super comfy to wear and has now become a staple for daily use.
MY FINAL THOUGHTS ON THE BJJ BOX
This was a very well-thought-out subscription box. It included two items dedicated to personal hygiene, two items for relieving pain, a very comfy T-shirt, and a 6-pack drink mix. All the products were very useful and of top-notch quality. I really liked the peppermint bar soap as it had a cooling effect. It made you feel refreshed after taking a shower. The body wipes came in handy, especially on days when I had to run off to work right after my training session. The cold compression actually worked wonders. It really did make the pain go away and it did not feel too tight on the wrist. I liked the pain-relieving ointment by Tiger Balm as well. Although, I did not use it much. The drink mixes were pretty good and I loved how instantly it mixed with the water. You could just pour the powder into your flask and give it a good shake before drinking.
One thing I really admired about the BJJ BOX is that all the products were made of safe and healthy ingredients that did not cause any irritation or swelling. The products came with proper instructions and were super easy to incorporate into my routine. You can definitely count on BJJ BOX to deliver all the fantastic and high-quality BJJ gears to your doorstep once a month.
